Default just got the deal of a lifetime on an hd70

i am soooo happy, i read in the hd70 review thread yesterday that a person had gotten an hd70 for 499 on sale at best buy. so i stopped by bestbuy to see if they had any, well they didn't, so one of the store employees looked up on the computer to see if there were any at another store. the computer had one listed at a store about an hour away, my dad called and asked if they had one and was told they didn't, so he told the guy that the computer said there was one in stock and that it might be in the store room. the guy said he would check and put us on hold for about 20min when he came back we were delighted to hear that he had found it, so we asked him to hold it for us and that we would be by in the morning to pick it up. we got up this morning and got there when they first opened and went to the customer service counter to find he had done just what he said and put it away for us, only the price was not $499 so now i am the proud owner of an hd70 for $256.00 and the picture is sooooo much better than my 20in 720p i had

as of right now i have it set up on a stand behind my couch, projecting on a blank wall, right now the screen size is about 85 inchs but when my home theater is finished i will have it mounted on the ceiling with a throw of about 13 feet and a screen size of 100 inchs. my parents were amazed and said they didn't know a projector could look that good

And to think I paid upwards of $4K for a BenQ PE8700 in 2003 (and that was wholesale price!).

These are good times for hidef. Congratulations!

i am looking at something like this http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...ection_Screen_
so that you wont really even notice it when its not on, my theater is going to also be my living room, i am getting ready to start school and my dad and i are going to finish the basement so i will be able to run all my wires and make it nice and clean, but for now i am just using a blank wall . my family now only wants to watch movies in my room

Congrats on this awesome deal!
Please post some pictures once your HT is done

Been doing some research to see if I should either get a new tv or a projector later on this year.... hmmm, with prices this low on projectors, I might get one!

well, my local bb didn't have a magnolia home theater section so the demos were on a stand by the rptvs, they did not have any instock localy. the computer indicated that there were only one or 2 left within about a 200 mile radius and the prices very widely from the one i got up to about $600 so if you find one i would advise getting it . i really love this projector movies are amazing and clear. and ps3 games are out of this world on a screen this big. however i do find for the absolute best color and picture it needs to be pretty dark, i mainly watch movies at night so it wasn't a problem but today in the bright sun i closed my wooden blinds and i could see the picture perfectly ( to be fair i have a hard time seeing a crt with the blinds open )

but just to reiterate for those looking to get one, i love this projector and would have gotten it even at full price, i see my self using a projector for ever now, with a picture this big and this clear it's hard not to
