where to buy onkyo 705 in BUFFALO

i live in toronto and quite frankly, receivers here are overpriced and scarce.

i am going to down to buffalo either this weekend or next and would like to purchase my onkyo 705 receiver there

does anyone know where to get an onkyo 705 in buffalo and what the best price would be?

you can try a yellow pages search on yahoo. at least you can get address and phone numbers and call some places. im sure you can find a place. hope it works out for you.

circuit city carries em online. im sure theres stores in ny

Stereo Advantage has it. $699.90.
Easy to get to, depending on the bridge you use to the US.

$650 for the Onkyo 705 on CCity website. You can print that out from their website and hold them to it when you arrive (in case they have it marked as $699 or something).

Stereo Advantage is the best home theater store in the Buffalo area (although that is not saying much!)
If you have time, there is a Magnolia store in the Galleria Mall Best Buy store.

these are the 3 CC in the buffalo area (zip code 14202). you can buy online and then pickup in store. Or you can call ahead to ensure they have them in stock. Since they show on the web as "in store pickup" i believe that means they have them in stock...

Regualr prices is 799. Its on sale this week for 649 (ends saturday) so you probably should make the trip this wekeend or buy online and choose in store pickup.. Otherwise you would have to wait another 3-4 weeks for the sale to occur again , if it does.

magnolia is usually inside the best buy stores. a store within a store. i think there is a stand alone magnolia by me in san jose. but at best buy they have thier more expensive products. but someone earlier posted that best buy doesnt carry onkyo. and from what i remember, its true.

best buy doesn't list the onkyo brand on their website. I ad looked there when i was loking for a 705. Only circuity city had them.

would have been nice if CC had the marantz sr4002...im debating between the two

does anyone know if the marantz matrixes the 5.1 to 7.1 like the 705 does?

from what it looks on thier site, it can with dolby ex. the two rear center speakers are mono. the same sound. i would gather as more and more blu movies use 7.1, those channels may or may not be mono. i would look into that before you choose just in case for the future.

ive been thinking, as long as both can do 7.1 pcm, can decode true hd and dts ma, then i would think that the only difference would be the difference in the thx select 2 and the dolby ex and the way they matrix
