I got the lowest end 5.1 system they have (300 Series). Still way better then anything I've heard for the price. I got mine at Spearit Sound in Boston.
I'm pretty sure Spearit was a website that you can by online, I think.
Good luck with your B&W's. I know you'll love 'em.

IMO, their pricing (not quality) is like a jazzed-up Paradigm. They don't go quite as low price wise, but they go higher price wise.

ie: if Paradigm goes from $500/pair up to $8000/pair. B&W goes from ~$600/pair up to their Nautilus speakers which are above $25,000 a pair. (I forget exactly).

I used this site for pricing (you CAN NOT order these online) They have the UPDATED (yes the prices went up in November) prices listed, at MSRP which most place sells them for, but you can haggle of course......

http://www.hometheaterstore.com/home...akers_s/31.htm

As far as a waiting list, I got all of mine within a week or so of ordering. I'm not sure if it's policy or not, but I paid everything in full (which wasn't necessary at the time) and they still were unable to ship them to my home, so I had to go to the store to pick them up.

I hear some have back-orders, but not many, and if so, not long....

EDIT***** I just checked the site from the Guitarist's link, and it doesn't list many of the speakers (like the 700's) so you can probably use both sites to get pricing ideas..... but I'd start with B&W's website to see what speakers match what sets etc....

I can recommend many of these if I know your budget, because I've listened to quite a few (including the Nautilus "SHELL" speakers that retail for about $35,000 a piece)

Also, I LOVE my speakers, and have

The 703's 705's HTM7, a pair of 686's and Ds6's so I can tell you whatever I know about those, but again, I listened to many others.

Not sure if they have Barretts Home Theater near you but one here in Chicago has their whole line on display. I just put the mini theater in my family room and they are awsome.

how do you like the 686's i am thinking of using 4 686's for surround and 685's for fronts or just using 686's for the fronts also

Go to the B&W homepage, and put your zipcode in the dealer locator. The closest dealers in your area should come up. This depends on your dealer and how much you are spending, but you can expect to get a discount off the MSRP, anywhere from 5%-15%. It's completely at the discretion of your dealer, and he doesn't have to give you any discount at all. Just don't expect to get huge discounts if you are buying the less expensive models, you have no rapport with your dealer or if you aren't spending a large amount of coin.

I had these connected to a 2-channel amp for awhile (I say "awhile" but I purchased all of these since Thanksgiving ) and they can certainly fullfill the role of fronts, but listening to the 685's, they do give you a little more lower extension, and I'd recommend the 685/686 combo. I think the 685's were maybe $200 more per pair than the 686's, but if they're gonna be your fronts, it'd be worth it, but if you're on a budget, 4 686's will get the job done. It's amazing how clean they sound, and the punchy bass that you get from these little bookshelf speakers is AMAZING..... I still can't believe it!!!

For the guy who said he had the M-1's (the mini-theater) I listened to those too, and the fact that I'm more into Music than Video/HT prevented me from getting them, although the wife wanted them due to their size, and they also sound amazing. I'd put those against any $3,000 Bose HTIB.

The subs they offer with them (matching line) didn't do it for me, but the satellites were VERY NICE.

A friend of mine used to carry B&W in his audiophile shop, and they are simply stunning. The transparency and imaging from the Nautilus line made the speakers simply disappear into the background.

B&W speakers are definitely worth seeking out, if they're within your budget.

Man I hate going to my local dealers with a passion. They are so arrogant and truly believe only their products (not only B&W) are good. Next time I upgrade my speakers I will drive an hour or two to get better service. Too bad B&W like many others don't allow online sales.
