Default Some advice about running wires in/through walls

After reading and posting in the hide your wire threads I thought I might offer up some advice to avoid insurance and NEC code problems. I've been an electrician for 20 years so I have a tendency to see things from a different view.

Background on power cords; they are typically what's called SO or SOOW that relates to it's insulating properties and where they can be used. They are not mean't to be passed through walls or in walls. There are specific types of wire allowed for this purpose.

2005 NEC Article 400.8
Uses not permitted (There are 7 locations but I will only list those that apply)
(2) Where run through holes in walls, structural ceilings, suspended ceilings, dropped ceilings, or floors.

(5) Where concealed by walls, floors, or ceilings or located above suspended or dropped ceilings.

(6) Where installed in raceways, except as otherwise permitted in this Code.

I'm not trying to bust anyones chops but just saw the pictures that concerned me. Likewise the speaker wires, I would run plenum/riser grade wiring since it is approved for concealled work.

I know I might catch some grief for this post but there are devices and methods to get the same job done, I will grant you this they do cost more but not that much more.

These codes all relate to safety and smoke/fire ratings. Any questions are more than welcome.
