Default onkyo 605 listining mode question

what setting should i have the onkyo 605 on when watching blu rays on ps3 should i have it on direct or multichannel and duting direct hd play should i have it on direct or multichannel/mono depending on tv station ??

Well...for me I use PCM from the PS3 to the 605 via HDMI, as for TV I usually use Theatre Dimensional, or TV logic...not sure which I like better.

If I understand correctly, the "direct" setting defeats the delays and other settings that were set during the automated speaker setup. It literally is "direct" as stated. The multi-channel processes the PCM but retains the receiver's automated settings.

That said, it is probably a matter what sounds better to you. If the setup is making a lot of corrections that are beneficial, the multi-channel may be preferred.
