Ok so I've had this thing for a week, brand new bought off a respectable seller on ebay. Thing works like a charm tested it with a few non-BR movies then I go out and buy T-2 blu-ray version. I load it up it plays just fine, I watched most of it. So I turn it off and the next day when I go to load up the 1400 it just hangs at "Load" for like 5-10 minutes. So I know something is f'd.
After a few attempts at starting it, checking connections, trying to open it to retrieve the disc nothing works it hangs at load and I gotta turn it off. I then manage to open the disc at the start by hitting the open tray button repeatedly, didn't always work but atleast I got the T-2 out. But now nothing loads it seems fubar. I can't even manage to reach the Samsung BD-P1400 menu to look at settings with no disc in the machine. When it was working I checked the firmware and it was I believe 2.1. I did not attempt to update it since I'd only had it for literally a few days and played it for merely a few hours. "Load" is all that I see. I am undeserving of such bad luck ![]() But it seems like starting it a second time with T-2 f'd it, and I'm agitated to say the least. Suggestions? Ideas? Or am I destitute to call Samsung Customer Service reps. |

There is no such thing as firmware 2.1. The newest firmware is 1.6.
Go to the Samsung website, download the latest firmware, burn it to a CD-ROM, and follow the instructions for updating your firmware manually. That's what their customer service will tell you to do first anyway. http://www.samsung.com/us/support/do...sp_nm=BD-P1400 |

Yeah, after holding the on button for ten seconds it started to actually read the dvds i had been testing it with. I then proceeded to download the iso burn it and update the firmware. Update went fine and now I have no problems. Yeah as far as the firmware thing went your right the newest is 1.6 and I updated to that, I think I was just influenced by the BD-P1200 firmware updates I mistakenly downloaded instead of the 1400, and thought one of those versions was what the machine came with.
Thanks anyhow I fixed it myself. |
