Default Can you buy just the cord to recharge controller?

I seem to have lost the short cord that hooks the controller to the console to recharge it. Can you buy just that cord?

But do stores like Walmart carry the same ones that come with the PS3 in the videogame section?

I got several devices along the way that have the cord. Do you have a Logitech Harmony remote. That comes with a compatable cord. I also have a digital voice recorder that has the mini USB as well.

While we're on the subject, does anybody know if it'll hurt my controller if I plug it into my Motorola RZR charger. The charger does have the mini USB plug. I just don't want to fry a controler trying to find out if it works or not.

USB devices run off 5 volts. PRetty much all usb cables will charge at 5 volts. Most devices will not activate/charge if your cable differs to much from the intended volts.

I have charged my controller via the usb cable connected to the PS3, usb cable connected to the computer, usb cable in the car for my GPS and and usb cable plugged into a 120 volt outlet (cell phone or gps) . They all do the same thing.

Thanks for the info. It is sometimes inconvient to charge my controllers because the PS3 has to be turned on. Though I've been fine by watching a movie and charging, I don't always remember that my controller needs to be charged.

Default Monoprice.com

Alright.. no more posts about cables, ever, and I'll tell you why here's your answer for every single cable you need for as cheap as you will ever find:

monoprice.com

Just stop with the "where do I purchase cables on teh cheap?" or "can I get a cable for this?" or "where do I get a cable for..."

Just in case you're extremely lazy here's a link to a 1ft cable that will work just fine for your controller:

http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

Seriously, is it that incredibly difficult to understand?

no more posts about cables or heaven help your children while they sleep....

P.S. Mods, can we PLEASE get a sticky regarding, "BEFORE YOU ASK ABOUT CABLES" and put a link in there for monoprice.com?

If local retailers want to sell me junk for 240% markup and claim gas prices are hurting their profits then YES I will buy where it's cheaper.

Some of us who have bills to pay cannot afford to support Joe Blow's Super Markup Discount store. How stupid does it sound to buy for $20 what you can get for $0.83? Fine, go support your local retailers who are friendly enough to rip you off you ninny.

Go write another story about your experience shopping for GTA IV like it was some magical adventure you conquered.

I know, I'm such a fanboy for paying $5 for a HDMI cable instead of $50+ at a local store.

That's like calling someone an "Amazon fanboy" because they want to save $5 - $10 on each Blu-Ray title compared to local stores.

You own monoprice.com? LOL.

I'd recommend the Nyko Charge Base. Holds all 4 controllers, keeps there neatly organized and fully charged 24/7. I love mine.

whoa whoa whoa, what the hell is so funny here?

Granted I started and continued this bickering, but I don't get your comment at all.

I promote that site to everyone who asks for cables/where to find them, and I've seen repeatedly all over the web (including this site) that anytime people ask about cables monoprice.com is given over and over. Are all those people owners of monoprice.com as well? See where you look silly here?

What the hell is so wrong with promoting the purchase of cables for literally pennies on the dollar? Have you gone mad?

I get that it's St. Patty's and everyone might be drinking, but we are breaching a level of idiocy here that is perplexing.

I wonder the long-term effect places like that will have on the economy. If EVERYONE started using places like that and the companies physically making the cables aren't making anything...will they continue to do so?
Anyways, that's just something I've been thinking about lately. Carry on.
