The Uncompressed 5.1 PCM audio had a constant bitrate of 4.6 mbps and was of reference quality. This film is definitely the sort that benefited from high bit rate uncompressed pulse code modulation surround sound. While it may not be an action based film with explosions, car chases, gunfire etc. it does present challenges of its own. Firstly the track calls for a wide variety of dynamic impressions in the form of music from several genres. There is acoustic guitar with vocal accompany, electric piano with vocal accompany, harder edge rock/pop, techno style rhythms and varying background instrumentation.

"If I had to describe this video presentation using one phrase I would describe it as “film like”. Images looked clean with good detail in close up and distant/panning shots. Fine object resolve was above average but at times lacked the subtle texture and sharpness of the best high definition video I have seen on blu-ray"

His problem with Halloween was the incorrect color timing of the Divimax master they used for the Blu-ray. A valid objection, but he failed to make it clear that the PQ itself, was very solid.

As the OP stated, Coyote Ugly is a guilty pleasure. I've always like the film ever since the first time I saw it on PPV with a chipped-up cable box. I'll be buying thr BD on Tuesday as I am sure a lot of other will. There is just something about Piper Perabo.
