Is the remote for the ps3 the same remote used for the sony blue ray stand alone unit? What is the model number of the remote?

I'm sure there's a model number but it is not the same as Sony's standalone remote. It's just a PS3 Blu-ray Bluetooth remote.

For those who bought parallel/gray-import PS3s from the US, will the Japanese Blu-ray remote (CECH-ZR1J) work with it?

I've looked for them at several retail stores around here, no luck yet.

I bought the BD remote today at the local EB Games in Alberta. Should be around now elsewhere I would think.

picked one up last night at best buy.. they only had 1 on the shelf

The only reason I would use one is so that the controllers battery isn't dying sitting there doing nothing for hours while the movie(s) are being watched. I just can't justify the price yet. Maybe I'll try to find one open box or something.
