Default It's like VHS vs. Beta, isn't it?!

OK, here's how I see it. Those of us around during the big VHS or Beta debate will recall. The format that won out there was the one that was least expensive (players and tapes). Beta was in all (tech) cases the more superior. So, why did VHS win out? Cost! and maybe availability. I only knew a small handful of people with Beta (they were the rich kids) but everyone else in town had VHS. I just picture history repeating itself and if people can not be brain-washed by the "SONY" name on Blu-Ray like they are with everything else, HD will capture the majority of consumers in the long run. Plus as mentioned numerous times on this site (by even Blu-Ray supporters) the movie selection isn't exactly run out and drop $600 bucks on a player material. I mean, Disney is exlusive to Blu-Ray, but really, I can watch Bambi on regular DVD if need be.
