In terms of how good the actual movie is. Films like The Ant Bully, Monster House, The Wild, etc... I'm thinking about buying 1 to see how good they look on blu-ray (plus I always find these kind of movies entertaining so I'm pretty sure it won't be a "waste" of money).

hello,
well i have all 3 of those and personally i would go with the wild or ant bully. i didnt really like monster house to much but thats just me. great PQ though just didnt like the movie overall. The ant bully has an okay story but good PQ. The wild i personally thought it was going to be horriable but it turned pretty good the PQ was awesome aswell. Just some thoughts. hope it helps ![]() |

cool, thanks. I really liked a Bug's Life and Antz so I think I might try out the Ant Bully first. Another website I referenced said that Monster House was the best animated movie out of the ones available on blu-ray so I'm glad you gave another point of view. I'm also wondering how the other animated films like Ice Age 2 and Open Season are? Can anyone comment on those? Thanks.

The Wild is the better of the group movie wise and PQ. Ant Bully second followed by Monster House. I own the first two on Bluray and saw the 3rd. I did not like Monster House myself, so I will not buy it on BD. The PQ on The Wild is one of the best I have seen yet.

Alright, "time for an in your face discrace!"
![]() In my opinion, I've see all 5 of these movies with my 3 sons, and in terms of how good the actual movie is, here are my rankings... 1) Monster House - a good film with an original storyline. Might be a bit scary for the wee little kids out there, but if you're kids are as desensitized as mine, we'll they'll love it. 2) Ice Age 2 - another good one IMO, just supplanted by Monster House by a thin margin. Can you get any funnier than "Slifth the Slofth." ![]() 3) Ant Bully - a pretty descent film. Nothing extraordinary about the story or the originality of the charactes IMO. Fairly solid, but not so much when compared to Monster House and Ice Age 2. 4) The Wild - meh. I find it very unoriginal as SOME movies out of Disney are. You basically have the Finding Nemo story melded with Madagascar. The parallels are quite apparent. Although the animation looks pretty sweet and there are a few humorous parts, I felt the story lacked a genuine story line like most Pixar films attain on a consistent basis. I'm just hoping Disney doesn't F up Pixar now that they've combined. 5) Corpse Bride - pretty witty, and some of the songs made me laugh. But, IMO it was too creepy much like a lot of Tim Burton's stuff. Plus, I'm not a big fan of characters breaking out into song. So there you have it. My opinion. Take it for what it is--just my honest analysis of the 5 movies. |
