Default LFE on my Receiver?

Hi again all I was wondering how do I get rid of the LFE (Low Frequency Effects Channel) light on my receiver?

I have a Pioneer VSX-9120TXH-K Rec. and was told that having it on takes away from the "experience" of surround sound? Its on whenever Im watching a BluRay movie through my PS3... of which I have hooked up via HDMI through my rec.

Is it true that its a "bad" thing sort of speak, LFE?

Cheers in advance...

I don't understand your point. If yo take away LFE then you have no real use for a subwoofer.

LFE is just a bass only signal output through the subwoofer port. It makes no difference if it's on or off. It's your system as a whole that makes for good or bad sound.

This is merely an indicator that illuminates during playback of low-frequncy effects to inform you that the program source contains a low-frequency channel. Low frequency effects are not present in all portions of the audio track.

You might be confusing this with an OVERLOAD INDICATOR, that illuminates when the input signal level is too high.

You have no control over the LFE indicator.

LFE stands for Low Frequency Effects and it is absolutely NECESSARY for your home theater experience. Don't worry about the indicator light, it has no effect on your systems performance
