Hey I just got threw talking about that somewhere else. FYE is insane anyways, but so is any retail store that opens up in the mall. They put a store there, expect more customers, so they should put out higher sales and gross. It seems to be like that DVD/CD stores. Thats why the prices are jacked up.

so what ...the date, it shows theres a pattern here that bd sal players are going up!not only that at the ces this year they said they would go up in price...why,,, profits.and that they want to keep the prices higher longer then sddvd did back in the day.this is a case of wanting your cake and eat it too.
keep the price high and mass adoption....not going to happen.
remember ...laserdisc.the bda needs to get there head out of there ass.
this time they don't have hd dvd to kick around and if they start kicking jp6 around there going to end up like laserdisc and were the ones who will pay.
this is corp.at there best all they really care about is there pockets.

Yes it was funny to see what the bitter hd dvd fans still have to say about all of this. You should read the comment left by our own CaptGreedle on there.

MSRPs on BD players have not gone up. The stores can charge whatever they wish for them. Stores were charging less during the holiday season because of sales, and they raised their prices to non-sale prices.

To accuse the BDA of raising prices is short-sighted.
