Does anyone else notice judder on this title more than others?I have a sony bravia KDL 40v3000 and this movie really stands out in the judder department, especially in the first 20 mins where it's all sunny outside.
24p is enabled on my PS3 and the TV, but it still uses 3:5 pulldown. |

JItter/Jutter/Judder/whatever else people are calling it now.
Apparent during panning shots. |

I've not seen this one yet in the theater so I can't say for certain how it looks like on film. There is however a panning rule that cinematographers are cognizant about; whether they follow it or not is up to them.

I've never noticed it. Here's a little something I read about your tv:
"Viewing examinations using 24p video material confirmed the KDL-46V3000 did reduce judder producing admirably smooth panning shots, however, the reduced refresh rate (48 Hz) did introduce additional flicker into some vertically orientated details as the camera panned. Standard-definition video via the component input exhibited an excessive 7 percent overscan that unnecessarily softened the picture due to the lost detail." Have you tried watching it with the 24p turned off? |

I've one of these TVs coming tomorrow, replacing a Samsung M86 which produced screen-warping,(the actual screen had moved away from the back),after little over a week. I do know what you are talking about, I saw it instore actually on this tv which had The Polar Express and The Simpsons Movie playing concurrently. Bad judder in panning shots, but as so many people own this model,(and would SURELY have mentioned if it was a problem), I'm assuming that it's a conflict between the TV and the player, does the TV have its own 24fps setting? If BOTH the TV and the PS3 are set to 24 frames, maybe they're messing each other up? Try disabling the 24 setting on one on the devices. Obviously I'll know more myself tomorrow.

Once you start noticing 24 fps judder (normally during quick pans) you start to see it everywhere. I was worried my Sony A3000 wasn't handling 24p correctly because I started noticing motion judder. Then I saw "There Will Be Blood" in the theater and saw it everywhere. It's better to be oblivious.

I am HIGHLY susceptible to judder. It drives me nuts on nearly every movie. My current set does not have a native 24p mode, sadly. But in 60p mode, from my PS3, I didn't notice this title to be any worse than any other title.
