Question Question regarding my setup

I will start out by saying I have searched all over the forums, and some threads were just ramblings on about this and that.

Here is what I want to know. I currently have a Denon-3805 receiver... (which I love).. but has no HDMI input. I also have a PS3 as my source for all that is Blu. I do have 7.1 sound (in-wall Klipsh speakers, model numbers unknown --- came with the house)

I would love to upgrade my receiver to say.. a Denon 3808ci (I don't want Yamaha or Onkyo, as I have space constraints in my media center). Would I benefit from this upgrade from a sound perspective? I know I still cannot bitstream the HD sound, but would there be signifigant improvement?

The HDMI inputs would simplify my life a little, as my TV has 2 currently, I have 3 I use (DTV HD DVR, PS3, and Denon DVD player). the 3808ci appeals to me as it has 4 HDMI, and I am thinking that when that Panny BD50 comes out, I might have to get that too.

Thanks for your input. Don't yell at me too much, as I said, I searched, and most of the threads were people saying that Yamaha, Pioneer, or Onkyo is better, or worse... if you know what I mean.

Thanks

Mark

Considering that you are using the PS3 as your blu-ray player, then yes there will be a significant change in the audio quality. Obiously some discs don't take advantage of the advanced audio codecs, but those that do should sound better. Whether that increased audio clarity is important to you is another question, one that we cannot answer.
