Default Question on setup

I'm about to buy a PS3 and I have some questions for the setup.
My HDTV doesn't have HDMI so I'll need to plug the PS3 thru Component.
Since my ports are already in use I need to use a component switch like this one (unless you know of something better?): http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2
Will I be able to watch the movies in 1080p?

Does Monoprice sells a good/affordable component cable that you would recommend?
Same thing for optical cord?
Thanks.

If your tv doesnt have an HDMI input, then I doubt it will be able to display a 1080p signal either. I think that the most you can get with component cables is 1080i anyways. I don't know much about switches, can't help you there.

Components do send 1080P signals, but many tv's dont accept a 1080p signal through the components, so you might have to check what resolution you are getting...

The TV is a SD-533 HD5
I called Pioneer and they told me I can't use the DVI, it won't work, for some reason.
