Art of Sale? - Blu-ray Forum

Anyone familiar with the Art of Sale website?

I have been waiting for the new Pioneer VSX-1018TXH-K which is due out in June and have been constantly checking Amazon and Google for any mention of it being available for pre-order.

This weekend, it popped up at http://www.artofsale.net/receivers/html/vsx1018.htm .

It doesn't mention anything about it not being available yet which makes me a little suspicious. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone knows of this retailer.

It does. That site just didn't list it.

I found that website today too. The price is great at $399. It has the 918, 818 and 518 listed as new in stock. But the VSX-1018TXH-K was listed as just new not in stock. I went ahead and put in my order. I looks legit. We shall see.

They arent an authorized dealer, so good luck getting that warranty to work if the reciever craps out.

New to this thread... but today was the first time I saw this Art of Sale web site and I've been looking for a new receiver for a while. I put my order in for the 1018 then backed off and canceled. The price looked too good to be true. I'll take my chances when the 1018 officially comes out.
I also been looking at the Onkyo 705 or 606, so this will give me some more time to bang my head against a wall to see what to buy.

It probably IS! I'd be VERY careful...

I checked out the site it looks cheesy for an electronics retail. I'd never buy from them. I did a little digging about the company... it's registered to David Mikadze in New Jersey. The corporate name on the site lists "M WEB Incorporated". Did a quick cursory look and couldn't find any information on the company with a Google search...

So I received an e-mail today that Art of Sale refunded my $399 plus shipping for the VSX-1018TXH-K to pay pal with no explanation.

So I guess the price was too good to be true. I e-mailed to find out why. I will post the reply if I get one.

I still want to buy the VSX-1018 this month but I can't find it available for sale anywhere. Neither do I see any word from Pioneer regarding it. I've been waiting months for this receiver.....I hope they start coming out soon.
