Default Onkyo TX-sr705 vs TX-sr606

Hey you guys another quick question. I'm going to be upgrading my receiver either next month or June and after reading through the item descriptions for both the Onkyo tx-sr705 and the txsr606, it's hard to tell the difference between both of the devices outside of the 606 having 1 more HDMI port.
Mainly I'm looking for some extra set of eyes to help me determine which device is the higher end machine. Any help will be much appreciated.

The release date is still unknown at the moment. But it is believed that it will be released this coming June.

I also have the HT-SR800, I bought it about 2 months ago and feel a bit ripped off. The salesman didn't tell me it only did HDMI pass through so now I am looking for a new reciever to get audio out through the HDMI port. I think we are in the same boat.

So I was wondering have you upgraded the speakers at all or the wiring? I am using the 24 gauge wires that were included but heard that upgrading to 12 or 14 would make a big difference. How is your system set up?

I haven't upgraded the speakers but I did install the system with 14 gauge wires. I purchased 12 gauge first, but with the size of my living room and the distance of the speakers from the viewing area I've learned that the 14 gauge wires would suffice.

The sound is nice, and I'm quite pleased with the system regardless of the hdmi passthrough. I purchased it knowing that the receiver was only going to be an entry level receiver for me.
I would say go ahead and purchase 14 gauge wires from monoprice and rewire the speakers. You should have a more enjoyable listening experience.
