When I got my carpet last year I paid $4.95/square yard for installation. I know Lowes had a deal going recently for $200 for installation regardless of size (of course you had to buy the carpet at Lowes). Not sure if that's still going on. Regardless, it shouldn't cost more than $2.00/square foot for installation.

id go with someone install carpet, in case you messed up and wont cover repair or replacement, if someone hired by company u buy from install themselves and it should add little more money. I would go with professional and sit back and relax til it is done. it is just me.. Good luck with your 1980s game room and send us photo after u are done!
