Exclamation HELP! i cant read pdf files online, critical!!

i have something very important to do for work, but when i try to view a .pdf file online the page is just blank

i have acrobat reader 5.0, shouldnt i be able to see this .pdf online? i remember being able to view them before, is there an update i need?

i just click on the link and nothing shows up, my browser says "done" near the bottom with a yellow caution sign (just like the one i used to mark this thread)

can someone please help, it is crucial that i be able to read these files

thank you

EDIT: im using internet explorer if that helps in any way
