Onkyo 805 and DTS-HS master on PS3

Okay...as cited, I have an Onkyo 805. Here's what I know and what I've done so far.
What i've done:
a) downloaded / installed firmware v.2.30
b) set PS3 to linear PCM for settings>>sound options
c) set the receiver to multichannel output

What i (think i) know:
The DTS-MA light will not be illuminated on the receiver, due to the signal being processed by the PS3 and not the receiver. When i hit the display button on the receiver, it displays that the broadcast frequency is 48 KHz. I thought that DTS-MA out put was higher than 48 KHz...the question is, have i missed something or misunderstood something along the way? (test movie is castaway...don't know if that matters).
