Blood Diamond trailer from PS Store (Ps3)

I downloaded this last night. Wow. I don't know if the movie is any good or not but the trailer looks noticeably better than The Descent and maybe even Ice Age 2. I've only seen those 2 BD discs so far to compare.

Even though 40% of the reviews were not favorable the movie was awesome. And it was filmed in Africa which is going to look breathtaking on Blu-ray. The movie was well acted, visually stunning cinematography, and a great story. However this is a political movie and that turns off a lot of people.

Leo's other movie this year called "The Departed" is arguably the best movie of the year (if you like God Father/Soprano's type movies).

It's not a political movie; it doesn't divide people in the Red & Blue states.

It is however a drama with serious economic and social undertone. It is worth watching not only for the movie itself and the acting but also for the things it makes you think long after you've left the theater.

I did not mean political like democrats and republicans. I meant political such as a reviewer put it "Zwick wants to teach audiences another history lesson and lecture them on political correctness." This was a snippet from a negative review. However, I appreciated the lesson and the movie.

But you are more correct when you wrote "It is however a drama with serious economic and social undertone."

Bottom line, this was one of my favorite movies of 06 and I can't wait to watch it on Blu-ray. Hopefully they do it justice (BD50 and lossless sound).
