Default Paramount's Redemption

What does Paramount need to do to make up their blunder of dropping blu-ray support?

This has been answered many times already. Here's a summary of the wish of many people here: to release Transformers, as well as a slew of others, with a high video and audio encode, the audio being either PCM or DTS-HD MA. Extras are optional, but not at the expense of PQ/AQ.

Announce titles now and get them to market. No one cares any more really. Just need those movies.

Making an announcement and getting There Will Be Blood and Sweeney Todd to BD before Universal titles street...that would be an acceptable beginning (for myself).

wow, I was the first to vote... I do love polls... Anyway, I voted that they should give us Indy and do quality remasters with lossless audio. I feel those two are the most necessary. I couldn't care less about an apology. I think their actions will speak louder than words. A BOGO would be nice, but isn't necessary right away.

Clearly... the only option is for Paramount to become the first studio to become COMPLETELY EXCLUSIVE to Blu-ray and stop producing DVD.

Releasing exclusively on Blu-ray is a fantasy at this point. Lets hope they release as soon as possible, and gives us a couple of unexpected goodies.

Default In the words of Aunt Slappy: Here's some dynamite down your pants...

I disagree with Marcus... I know I still care. I am STILL waiting for the love fest to begin. I'm sorry, but I think Uni's initial offering sucks for the most part and there's very little to say "You know what - we're sorry. We've been sitting on some great movies and we want you to be happy with us again". Paramount and Uni BOTH need to start giving us some serious payback. Warner could show them what love is by sticking The Matrix down our pants... and that right soon.

Cheers, Doc

(yes I know Matrix is coming this year, but so's Christmas...)

Careful... If they announce direct H-DuD ports, PQ/AQ threads will be around forever...

If you click that + thing next to quote, it would avoid the "postwhoring"
You can multi quote the whole thread

Paramount won't do anything to make it up to the consumer, They know that some people will buy their movies, regardless of how they personally feel about the studio. There will be no public apology, because, I am sure Paramount has somehow found a way to justify their position on dropping support for BD in the first place. and forget about BOGO's, they aren't going to do anything that is going to cost them profits.

Paramount is the Ferengi of the movie studios.

All Paramount needs to do to make me happy is to start releasing big titles ASAP.

Maybe Toshiba should have read up on some of the Rules of Aquisition from Paramount's TNG/DS9. "Once you have their money, you never give it back."

I suppose it could happen, but do you really think they should go back and redo all their HD titles just for BD - or concentrate on getting new ones out?
