Default Toshiba 42RV530U Review Thread

I just got my new 42" Toshiba RV530U. I've plugged in my Sony BDP-S301 and set it to 1080p/24 and it looks great (the Toshiba didn't attack it or anything). I watched Superman the Movie first (my son was adamant) and then I stuck in 2001. WOW! I set the TV to Native and got to see the disc with 1080p dot by dot precision. I'm very pleased. It has a dynamic backlight feature that I'm not sure about yet, but I'll post more as I have had time to play with it and watch more movies on it. The contrast is really good. It's not a plasma or a Sony but there is a lot of contrast. The colors look great and it's very bright. I also plugged up my LG dvd recorder and it will upconvert to 1080i. It looks good too. I even plugged up my GameCube and Laserdisc player. The GameCube is pretty good the Laserdisc suffers especially once I have scaled it to fit the nonanamorphic widescreen image to fill the screen. However, it is very watchable. Does anyone else have this set? I'd be interested in you thoughts. First impressions are very positive. I thought this would be a good way to bury the hatchet between Sony and Toshiba.
