Default What does Blu-ray.com use for the screenshots?

Curious - what are you all using/doing to get these screen shots?

I am only aware of one way and that takes quite a bit of time per movie.

We use tiny fairies borrowed from Guillermo that using microscopic loupes and years of training to measure each individual pixel and aided by an extended Pantone gamut chipset compare it by eye to the x, y chromacities measured and by working feeverish overnight by filling the color on a giant 110' x 190' canvas covered wall following the classic paint by the dots method adapted to a paint by the little white squares method we might get a picture. After careful examination by a Minolta colorimeter if we're satisfied that the fairy values match, we call Ernst Hass or Peter Turner for the color work , and Ansel Adams for the black and white and we trust upon them various Hasselblads, Nikons and 4 x 5 view cameras loaded with carefully refrigerated at their aim point Kodachrome and Echtachrome film (or Pan-X for b/w) so we get a high quality chrome or large b/w negative that we can then scan on our custom, one of a kind, 16K Cineon scanner that we happen to have in the attic for archiving tiny turn of the century philatelic postage stamps. And for the next screenshot we start the process all over again.

Nice work, Deci... that was supposed to be a secret. Now everyone is going to be out tomorrow with a couple of million bucks buying their own magical Blu-ray.com painter set. This is what we get by not having you sign a confidentiality agreement.

Thanks, Lawyers!

Satan, actually. Tenacious D is an unnamed contributor.

EDIT: Well, I guess they are a named contributor. Deci, could you add the Tenacious D / Satan element back into your paragraph above? We'd hate to upset the dark lord...

Alright... enough of this "funny, funny, Ha, Ha" gibberish. The beatings will now continue until morale improves.

As you can see starting with my post, my dear Moderators, we are shocked as to your silliness - you best close this thread before word of it gets out - like the landed gentry keeping printed type from the serfs so that they don't rise up.
