Pioneer is overpriced (i know it looks amazing, but they are still overpriced)
Samsung plasmas have a very weak contrast ratio (best LCD's in the world though) PANASONIC! best plasma on the market. very cheap too. cant lose (from my experience in retail, one of the few TV's that stores barely make any money on. for instance the store cost of a 50" 1080p plasma panasonic 700U was 2300$) Last edited by ricky tee78; 04-24-2008 at 03:33 AM. |

If not, definitely the panasonic. The installer who does calibrations for us says that the Panasonics have the most accurate picture out of the box (with the exception of Pioneer), and the Samsung has the worst picture out of the box. After calibration though, they look a lot closer, with Panasonic still taking the cake. |

PIONEER ELITE IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST! Panasonic doesn't come close nor does any other plasma brand.
A. Best Video processors (ex: the only TV ive ever seen with NO cross color whatsoever, smooth motion, color transitions etc) In a magnolia Home Theater inside Best Buy they had DIRECTV on and on a news casters tie there was a rainbow effect on the tie (cross color) on EVERY SINGLE TV EXCEPT THE 2 ELITES! ![]() B. Pro Color Filter: instead of using glass (which ALL other Plasmas use) Pioneer uses what they call their pro color filter enhances colors contrast etc. C. Project KURO: Deepest Black Levels I have seen to date and just wait for the new models which are going to have blacks that will knock the current KUROs out of the water. |

Even the 720p Kuros have outperformed nearly all 1080p televisions in numerous reviews, which gives you an idea of just how good Pioneers are.

Pioneers are the best if you have the money. But for my money, I don't think it's worth it to pay an extra $2000 for that edge. The panny 800/850's coming out this year are going to awesome. I would invest in one of those. Unless of course money is no object.

if you can afford it go for the Pioneer Kuro tv's. Just read reveiws everywhere and you will see the are hands down the best tv, even the 720p version is said to be better then most 1080p tv's. And the pictures of the 1080p set are to die for. But if your on a budget the next best thing is the panasonic. Stay away from samsung and LG

If you really need 1080P then the Panasonic PZ85. However, if not, then Pioneer. Forget the rest

Panasonic make very good TVs. Certainly, they're the brand to go for if Pioneer is out of one's reach. |

Didn't Pioneer recently sell out its Plasma line? I think they're dumping it in the near future. Kiss the good Pioneers goodbye: http://www.engadget.com/2008/03/07/p...-kuro-lcds-co/ |
