I just got this tv to replace my (POS) ilo plasma from Walmart. I got it on display for only $685 and love it alot. Its says its only 720p and thats fine I guess. Ive been reading reviews about this tv and some people claim it can display a 1080p signal. I have a PS3 that I use for movies and was wondering if anyone knew if this was true.

I wanted a Westinghouse 1080p LCD but couldnt find one in stock.

What reviews did you read? Why didn't you just go to the Panasonic website or read your manual? Websites can say just about anything. The internet isn't very good about assigning voice, authority, or value to "reviews."

It can take a 1080p/1080i/720p signal, but it displays at 720p. This is typical now, but used to be important. Ask anybody who has a projector that only accepts certain signals.

Anyway, $685 is a pretty good value. I'm sketchy about display plasmas since they're burning their colors @ probably 11k for 12 hours a day, every day. Can't really argue with sub $700 on that set though. Best of luck.

No you didn't. You may think you wanted one, but you didn't.
