Default no psn cards yet... :(

well, i think i may have to burn my credit card on the net then...

i want to get the new maps for cod4, and i guess this is the only way im getting it.

1. its secure right? any horror stories, pm me before i jump in tonight (eta around 5pm PST)

2. i can 'preload' it? so if cod4 cost 9.99 do i have to add on some stoopid tax on it?

3. i dunno what else to ask... its kinda difficult for people like me who dont want to use my cc on the web...

assure me i wont be scr*wed over, and we all win.

I use it all the time, no problems.

I think the minimum is $5, otherwise it will only add as much as it needs to complete the transaction. If something is $0.99 and you have zero funds you will have to add $5 minimum which is kind of weird, but hey, if you plan on shopping in the future you might as well. There isn't a tax applied so $5.99 is $5.99, plus nothing.

I monitor my credit card everyday though, so if something fishy ever shows up I'd just have it reported and not be liable anyways. No need to fear the PSN if you take the proper precautions by monitoring your credit closely... Which everyone should do anyways these days. It's just as risky as using your card at any store, or having it in your wallet to begin with. If someone wants to steal it and use it, they will find a way.

I've used my debit card on the PSN and yes it is secure. You don't even have to preload it, just pick what you want and go to the checkout. No they don't add any tax.

There has to be $5 in your wallet? What if there isn't? What happens then?

Just make sure you type every single letter EXACTLY as it appears on your billing info.

I had tried repeatedly for about a week and couldn't get it to work, then I noticed Sony had billed me for every attempt even though it never went through.

It ended up being almost 35$ in charges because I typed in 9a Ave North when on my billing it appears as 9A Ave North.

It's not that you MUST have $5 in your wallet, that's just the minimum you can add to your wallet.. You can't add $2 for instance.

If you have $3 remaining in your wallet and you by something for $2.99 then you won't need to add funds, obviously, but if it were $3.99 it would ask you to add $5. This was my experience the last time I had 1.90 left in my wallet and went to get $4.99 game and made me add $5 - Now, if you have $2 remaining in your wallet and you purchase something that's $7.99 then it'll only add the difference needed to complete the purchase (since it's adding MORE than $5) leaving the wallet at a $0 balance.

I could surely double check this tonight.

Yep, I don't think the US has state taxes like we have provincial taxes here. Lucky us...
