Default Why is Warner still giving us the audio shaft?!?

With multiple press releases on titles coming from Warner only showing old-ray lossy Dolby Digital, am I missing something? I mean HD DVD is dead why continue to punish us?

Fool's Gold and the Bucket List just today and a few I remember seeing in the last several weeks.

I wasn't aware of this.

Two brand new movies only have Dolby Digital?

It genuinely baffles me, I can't think of any reason to not include lossless audio on Blu-ray releases. Surely the audio starts out as lossless so that is the easiest format to use for the Blu-ray, they have to actually do some work to compress it to a lossy format?!

Shaft?

I want to see Shaft on Blu-ray. Hmm, maybe not Samuel Jackson's version.

WB gets a lot of praise for their quality of work, and rightly so. But not including HD audio on a HD disc is just unacceptable. I don't get it. Disney, Fox, Sony, and LionsGate can do this. So can WB.

Warner, "good enough" is not good enough.

The absolutely disgusting disregard for lossless audio from Warner makes me really appreciate the effort that Sony, Fox, Disney and Lionsgate put in to always give us a lossless track. So thanks guys, we really do appreciate it.

I agree. Dolby True HD,PCM,DTS-HD all 3 sound way better then Dolby Digital and regular DTS.

Don't forget who we're talking about here. Warner almost never put advanced codecs on their DVD's as well. DTS of any flavor (1/2 bitrate or full) was implemented on about a dozen titles TOTAL on the DVD format. paramount was the same way. it doesn't surprise me to see them following this mantra in the Hi-Def arena as well.

This is kind of a 'duh' statement. And I don't know about 'disgusting', but definitely unacceptable.

I gotta agree on this one. High res picture deserves hi res sound. It should go hand in hand. Are they being cheap or just plain lazy. We pay a premium for our bds and we deserve a premium product.

Are we sure that we're only getting Dolby Digital and not Dolby TrueHD? Until I actually see the back cover art, I'd assume any announcements might just be some sort of a mistake. Just like V For Vendetta supposedly only having Dolby Digital when it'll actually have TrueHD.

I think you're referring to "The Perfect Storm" whose rear cover art listed Dolby Digital, but has since been confirmed by Bill Hunt to include Dolby TrueHD (as well as a new encode).

I don't think anybody has posted the back cover art for "V For Vendetta" yet, even though it has since been confirmed to have Dolby TrueHD.

That being said, rear cover art has been posted for "Batman: Gotham Knight" and "Fool's Gold" with only Dolby Digital listed. I have yet to see rear cover art for "The Bucket List" yet...

Damn straight, because they are missing a DD True HD track and are not the Director's Cuts (hello you had them on DVD with DTS) is why I have not updated Lethal Weapon or Lethal Weapon 2.

Yes, DD5.1. As unfortunate as it may seem, that is the minimum requirement.
5.1 is not required. Only Dolby Digital or PCM

Robin Hood for example will have a 1.0 mono track. On HD DVD it was DD+ 1.0

If this true, I will not be purchasing any of these blu-rays. Didn't Bill Hunt say that Warner was going to stop putting DD on their blu-ray releases and start putting next audio on them?
