I just found this video. It has a trailer from the 1989 Batman, and a trailer from the upcoming Dark Knight. They are almost identical.

Unfortunately, it turns out this was not the original 1989 trailer, just one that someone re-cut to match the current trailer.

The REAL 1989 trailer is one of the all-time immortals of summer-trailer history--

I figured it was just an homage to the original, but this isn't entirely unexpected. Still, it's amazing to see so many similar shots in both movies--no denying that!

yeah, you can tell just from watching...

everything was timed identically...

they do have similar scenes, but the storylines are nothing alike...

Paying homage to the original 1989 film. Awesome. However, I think Ledger will blow away Nicholson's performance.

I agree with that as well. Not to mention, people will flock to this movie in droves to check out Heath Ledger's last performance. Our society is a morbid one, in that sense.
