Looks like another new release has the DTS Bomb when using BD-30's and Onkyo recievers.
I got one at around the 19:13 mark (When Christopher Lee and company are in the dimly lit room plotting shenanagans). Its odd to me that these newer titles are having this issue resurface (I never had issue with DTS bombs untill AVP:R and now the Golden Compass). |

Yea, I know about the issue and the fix. Unfortunately I either have to ship my reciever off to New York (From maryland) for who knows how long.
The other option being burn it to a disc and then flash it myself. Not everyone has fixed their Receiver, I was just attempting to be nice and point out the issue for those folks. Would suck to blow out your speakers due to this. |

And just to clarify, this is for those who bitstream DTS-HDMA to the Onkyo receiver. I
f you have a PS3, you cannot bitstream DTS-HDMA, so you're decoding it on the PS3 and sending it via multichannel PCM to the Onkyo, so this shouldn't affect PS3 owners, correct? Or should I be worried. I watched TGC a couple of nights ago and did not experience the bomb during the scene you mentioned. |

the new codecs,Dolby TruHD,DD+,DTS HD MA, guess it's better to hold on for a bit longer.I was looking at the Onkyo 705. Actually I am enjoying all the 5.1 uncompressed audio thru my multi-channel analoque connection be it TruHD or DTS HD MA.I'll give them time to improve before embarking on an upgrade. |

When Golden Compass started playing it nearly blew out my surround speakers even with the volume levels down. I had to go into my receiver and change from standard to 7.1 stereo to correct it. As you can see I have a Denon receiver and BD player. This is the only disc out of 60 played that this has happened.

Just watched this tonight. Panny BD-30(1.6fw) bitstreaming DTS HD MA to an Onkyo 605 with the DSP upgrade. No problems.

![]() ![]() I updated my Integra DTC-9.8 and no DTS bomb. There are small pops with this title when I pause, chapter skip, etc. I also have a BD-30. |
