Question Blu-ray Player VS PS3 Picture Quality

I've seen multiple discussions about the PS3 v.s. a stand alone unit, but nothing that directly answers my questions, everyone hints at this or that. I need hard proof! Are there any online documents prooving a stand alone unit has a better image and picture quality than the PS3? I have been searching thru Home Theater magazines for months. Using google all I have come across is "oh my how fast the PS3 is" and nothing directly involving image quality.

If I already own a PS3 for my main viewing location, obviously for faster loading and updates, would I be better off getting a standalone player for the bed room if I don't care about loading speeds being most of the time the movies I will be watching will be while in bed? Or should I swap the units, put the stand alone on my XBR5 and deal with the load times if indeed picture quality is better.

Also will a specific stand alone Sony BDP-S300 unit give better picture quality than a PS3 in your opinions?
