WoW! That is pretty impressive and about time that someone comes up with a program like that! This can either be the insurance's best friend or its worst nightmare if you own a lot of stuff

Thanks for sharing, I will definitely check the hole program soon!!

Thanks for your kind words.

Keeping my inventory up to date is a bit of nightmare, but nothing compared to the nightmare I'd have trying to remember all the stuff I'd have to replace if my house burned to the ground...

R-T, you've got mail!!!

Sounds like a GREAT Idea.... but I'm thinking about maybe a spread-sheet I can keep upgraded, and keep emailing to myself.... I'd hate to think about Lake-Erie catching on fire (It was the River guys... calm down right??? )

A spreadsheet is better than nothing, but it's not as universally accessible as a web site. And the spreadsheet approach isn't nearly as flexible--for example, how would one attach files (e.g., photos, warranty paperwork, professional appraisals) to items in a spreadsheet? With MOHI, doing all that (and more) is easy. Use the web site's "Take a Tour" facility to get an idea of MOHI's capabilities.

End of infomercial. :-)

There's a cool freeware OS X app called DVD Hunter that works for me . Works on 10.4 & 10.5.

I tried a few of them recently but ended up going with DVD Profiler. I love it! It's a combination of a standalone program you install/run on the PC and a website (where you can make contributions, submit/modify profiles, upload your collection, provide an online link to your collection, etc.). Pretty cool program.

http://www.invelos.com/

They provide a free trial but you can't use high quality scans in the trial version. The full version pics look much nicer. You can also protect parts of the profiles. On several covers I've scanned myself, I scanned at a much higher resolution so I lock the profiles (the cover image part of it) so that if I download new info on it, it doesn't overwrite my images. It also has front and back images which in nice.

Edit: Here's a pic of what it looks like...click for a 1024x768 image (resized)
