PS3 BD Remote Problem!!!!!HELP PLS

Yesterday my BD remote stoped working!! Tried everything I could think of. Registering it again, but it won't even do that. So I went and bought another one tinking it was the remote maybe just time for a new one. I was wrong it won't work either.

Can anyone help me I hate using the game remote for watching movie's.

I know one of my 3 stopped working and from what I read around the ps3 site is that its just a random thing and that alot of people have it happen... Only thing ive found that can fix it is call sony and get a new one... we have 3 of them 2 that work and one that doesnt.

Yes the controller still works. I really love using the BD remote to watch movies.

Yes i did and went as far to buy a new remote still doesn't work. The batteries are new.

The system won't register it. Tried it over and over again at least 20 times. I figure it has something to do with the systme but I don't know what??? The remote is new & won't register

sounds like the ps3, time to get a new one, buy a new one and put your old one in the box and return it.

Thanks for the help I decided to reformat the PS3. Than register the new remote works now, If this happens to anyone remember to save your items on a USB Flash Drive

Well - Ever since that last firmware update, my blue-tooth keyboard, Mouse, and headset all refuse to connect.
None of them will register either. The keyboard gets as far as to tell me to enter the code displayed on the screen, but the second i push anything it tells me there was a timeout.

My blue-tooth remote, and the controllers work perfectly fine though. It has to be something with that update.
Even when i updated it, i remember it finishing installing the update - then shutting off + beeping at me twice. Happened to alot of people...

It could be something to do with that. Thats my guess...

EDIT: Diddnt see that last comment. Alright - Glad that worked.

Ill try that out. .....but ill wait till i get a new HDD. Ive filled this 60GB HDD up repeatidly. I want a TB...

Has anyone tried taking the batteries out of the BT devices, turn on the PS3 and then clear the registered devices before putting in the batteries back in the BT devices?

did you do a total reformat or no? im gonna try that with the one I own that went up.

My BD remote has stopped working twice now. When I first got the PS3 it took over a minute of holding down the start and enter buttons before it would register the remote. It stopped working about four or five months ago. To re-register it took even longer that time.

Now it won't register it no matter how long I hold them down. I picked up a new remote and tried that with the same results. I took that back and bought the Nyko remote. Guess what? It doesn't work either.

I guess I can try reformatting the PS3. I have tried resetting factory defaults which did nothing.

I have the same problem. I tried 2 other remotes. They all will not register. The controllers and headset connect fine.

The instructions in the leaflet are wrong. Go to accessories settings/register bd remote. Press the start button and the enter button labelled "ENTER" surrounded by the arrow keys simultaneously, as you are told to do onscreen. The x button serves as enter on the controller, and the enter key on the PS3 Logitech keyboard is also labelled x, but that is not what is meant with regard to the bd controller. I also had my keyboard turned off for this - it might help to turn off other bluetooth stuff while doing this.

First off I was hella pissed it stopped working so I did a quick reformat of the hdd and that fixed it not the super over-haul... I too tried the pressing of the arrow keys and that didn't work but for me the quick format worked(actually mine stopped working about a week ago again ... so as I'm typing this i'm doing the hdmi setup....



for anyone worried about omg I have to do system updates all that omg omg, that isn't the case the quick format just gets rid of saved games, data utility, saved data utility, demos, vids, music, pics, home that kind of stuff you'll just need to re establish your network settings, and also how you get your video; hdmi, component, s video exc.

I had the same problem almost. I was watching a movie, started the movie with the remote. I then tried to pause the movie about 30 min later, it wouldn't pause, or none of the other options on remote worked either. I restarted PS3, I tried the controller and it didn't work either, I had to plug in the controller to get it to work. I just took the batteries out of the remote for a couple of minutes put back in, and then re-registered it under Settings > Register BD Remote Control and then controller and remote started to work again.
