Sony platforms dominated EA fiscal Q4 2008 sales

Quote:
Electronic Arts has revealed in its Q4 2008 fiscal numbers that game sales for Sony platforms far outweighed its rivals across the three months, with the PlayStation 2 leading the way on USD 166 million of sales*, followed by the PlayStation 3 on USD 152 million.
Quote:
Additionally, the PlayStation Portable was responsible for the largest revenue in the portable segment - USD 69 million in sales gave it a 47 per cent share, while mobile phone titles accounted for 28 per cent and the Nintendo DS for the remaining 25 per cent.

Hold up: does that article mean to say Q1 2008 or Q4 2007? Q4 2008 hasn't happened yet.

It has for EA. Electronic Arts's fiscal year 2008 was from April 1, 2007 to March 31, 2008.

Wow, why do they even bother supporting the Xbox with numbers like that? They could focus on the PS3 for next gen, and make a bang up game! Not like they would be losing much market share it looks like.

They still aren't getting my money for Madden 60fps or not. I'll just be playing NCAA all summer long.

Hopefully there's more meaty high production value games like Dissidia Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep coming. I remember John Kohler hinted at some third party announcements at CES.

I was pretty surprised by this bc you rarely see PS3 software at the top of the sales lists

What are you talking about, for the year of 2007, the xbox gave EA 671 MILLION in sales. The ps3 gave EA 331 MILLION in sales. The 360 was double the amount of revenue for EA in 2007. That is why they support it. One quarter doesnt make a year.
