Default Remember the LG Netflix box? Seems it'll be a Blu-ray player too

I found this on an AP story on the just-launched streaming box made for Netflix by Roku:

Quote:
The Netflix box, made by Silicon Valley startup Roku Inc., is the first of several devices that will pipe Netflix's streaming service to TV sets.

LG Electronics is expected to include the streaming capability in a Blu-ray DVD player that it plans to debut during the second half of this year.

Sony will be lauching some form of download service on the PS3 later this year as well. It seems hard to believe some of these other players will be able to achieve much given the footprint Sony and Microsoft will have with the PS3 and XBOX360 have respectively.

Good catch Grubert. If the Netflix download service flops it still can be used for BDs.

It's not download. They have an online viewing section for PC's as is. This will add Your TV to it. I will pick one up in the future as I use the online viewing quite a bit when I travel for business.

Netflix is going to be trying to put this into 2.0 compatible players just like DIVX is in DVD players

Here's another article. I must admit, it does show promise. Still won't stop me from wanting Blu though.
