Hard Copies will always be the way to go movie wise. Yeah people will watch on cable, but will also buy on BD and DVD

Studios Won't Go Along With This Idea And Solely This Idea. They May Do It And Still Do DVD And BD(Movies On XBox Live For Example) But They Would Lose A Ton Of Money If They Promoted This Idea Alone. Suicide.

If it was a movie I wanted to own (Pirates, Potter, Patton, etc) then a digital copy would not be the method I would own it in. And for a download, I wouldn't pay more than $5 for it, and only if it would download very fast and I could keep it forever. I'd 'rent' it for $3, so long as I could delete it when I felt like it. ~Camper |

Everyone gets a new computer what? Every 2 years {on average} 5 at the most?
What happens to all the information that the average person has on their computer if all of their movies are on their hard drive? I'm not talking about folks on here who likely have Terabite HD add-ons but the regular folks who barely know how to use e-mail. Logan |

I don't think the whole VOD or downloadable content is going to phase hard copy. Alot of people forget there are a lot of people that still use dial up or don't have an internet connection. And with word of Comcast and other internet companies wanting to start charging more money if you go over a certain usage amount. How many times have we heard about other methods of media going to replace cd's? Yes, mp3 is very popular and contributes to the declince of cd sales but it's not killing it and cd's aren't going to go extinct either.
