Default Pulled the trigger on a PZ85U

So I was at best buy with my dad helping him build up his home theater's audio (Got him set up with def tech's pro1000 across the front and two 800's for the SS and the prosub800 powered with a denon 2308 keeping him under his $2500 budget) and afterwards went to go look at the panny's since I had been figuring on either plasma or a better LCD for my next venture. I've owned CRT, LCD, and DLP in the past so I had a little knowledge of each.

The first few seconds had me extremely worried because the colors seemed funny even after an initial calibration based upon settings I gathered from the AVS forum. Getting about 30 hours into break-in and things are really starting to come together! I was planning on test driving it and taking it back but I think as it warms up I may just end up hanging on to it.

I wasn't initially planning on spending the money for one of these so I'm still feeling the gutwrench of chucking ~$2500 on a TV. Hopefully as the weeks tread on I will lose the urge to take it back to the store ASAP to get those precious dollars back! It really is a pretty thing to watch and the reflections aren't the horror story I've read people having. I have two windows at 90 degrees to the set and cream colored leather seats that make the room light up brilliantly, and while I can see it if I look for it, it is not nearly as bad as a CRT. Shut the blinds and BLAM, nothing.

Just thought I'd share. the PZ85 may not be the most recent like the 800u's, but it's still awfully nice.

Let me know how that goes, and how much is that running you pricewise anyways? I would think the hourly rate for travel would KILL me on cost. - You've already run well past break-in right? I currently have:

Picture - 60
Brightness - 41
Color - 44
Tint - -2
Sharp 50
Warm
Black - Light

Interestingly enough there isn't any documentation that came with my T.V. mentioning any sort of break in. Just some advice to avoid IR. Hmm? I'm not worried about burn in just thought it was interesting to read so much about it yet the official manual says not a thing about it.

Im paying $50 for travel and then $400 for calibration. You can use the ISF site to find a local guy.

Above I stated Custom, thats wrong, should be Cinema mode.

A guy on AVS has already has his 85u done by Lionav and loved it, so I cant wait.

Yes Im past 100, prob about 300 now. I kept Pic at 55 until 100 hours.
