dvdfromkorea.com, yesasia.com, and hkflix.com are my three top choices to get movies from Korea. Both companies are highly recommended.

Great news, I love Taegukgi!! But will these play on US Blu-ray players? I had thought Korea was in another region, that would really suck if it did since I buy a lot of Korean DVD movies.

Thanks for those sites, the only site I order Korean movies is from YesAsia.com... DVDFromKorea.com looks like a descent site, already have those new Blu-ray movies listed already. I definitely will be buying Taegukgi and Dongmakgol (i haven't seen it but trailer looks good).

I would think Korea will start picking up Blu-ray pretty fast since they are known to be a very modern country with all the latest gadgets... I have just started buying Korean movies on DVD and there are so many that I like, I always wish it was Blu-ray though.

awesome, I loved Taegukgi. My wife is in Korea right now. I'll have to have her pick up a copy. I'm a bachelor for 1 month, Rock Band party is this Saturday.

What about "A Bittersweet Life".. That was like the best Korean film, IMO.
I hope it releases in blu-ray!

Korea is Region A too so there should be no issues with it playing on US players.

Default Problem with Taegukgi

Received both today.

PROBLEM:

Taegukgi has been incorrectly encoded as 1080i?

Anybody have this issue?

Welcome to Dongmakgol plays back fine on my Bravia as 1080/24p.

The Region 2 DVD of Taek is nice but not super + it's Dolby Digital. I don't know if it's true but this one supposed to be DTS HD MA (written on the box)

Does anyone who actually have the Taegukgi Blu ray and can read Korean clarify something for me?

At the back of the cover, there are two runtimes: 148 min & 151 min. I know the film itself is 148 mins but what is the 151 for? Unless I'm mistaken, there are no special features or documentaries except for the commentaries & trailers.

Thanks so much!!!

WOAH! Really?! Taegukgi is mine, gonna have to import this bad boy. One of my favorite foreign war films.

Does anybody have any info as to the PQ/SQ of it?

Doubleedit: Yesasia.com lists it as 1080i and DTS-HD and DD5.1...damn, I need more info!

From what I can see, there is only one version of the film.

The only special feature is a trailer for the movie in 480p.

Back cover says FULL HD but it doesn't seem to be.

PQ is actually really good IMO. It's minimum 4 star, even though it's 1080i.

SQ is excellent!
