If you have the DVD, it's an really great upgrade in term of PQ and Sound, it's in 1080i and some people seems to have a problem with that, but it smoke a lot of movies with 1080p picture Imho...

The PQ is decent, better than DVD of course. It's not razor sharp like some of the few demo material blu-ray out there, but I would rank it 4.25 out of 5. The whole movie has slight grain in them...at least it's consistent throughout the movie.

The QA is excellent with DTS.

I would recommend an upgrade on this movie.

I am glad to hear that the PQ is good for this release. A question since it is in 1080i. It would play in an American PS3, correct? I know some 1080i releases, while region free, are PAL rather than NTSC. (Like [REC] unfortunately, because I would love to get that one)

So a friend is looking to free some funds and has a copy of this for sale. Please note that it is not too cheap but it is certainly lesser than some recent eBay sales. He will ship within US at no additional cost and worldwide at cost. Please dm me if anybody's keen. Thanks!

Considering this movie was one of the first Korean Blu-rays to be released (2008?) and since this it is so highly regarded, I’m surprised it’s not yet had a rerelease. What is the likelihood of this? I can’t find it on Blu-ray in any region either.

minimal. expecting popularity to correlate with availability is self-deceiving if you’ve followed korean releases, or release of korean films elsewhere, for any length of time, unfortunately.

Maximal. This is getting a new bluray release. Has been announced here: https://www.facebook.com/kimchidvd/p...46344898926039

If you look up The Movie Beat on YouTube he has seen the remaster at the cinema and is not impressed with the picture.

The French Blu-Ray is 1080p and looks marginally better, at least it is stable and has no wobbling. Muxing the subs from the Korean is not hard. The French has no english subs.
