I was thinking of buying a ps3 for BD primarily. But after reading about the audio outputs I don't think I should. I just purchased a Pioneer Elite VSX-90TXV A/V REC. thinking i could always use the optical in for any audio. Will a stand alone BD have 7.1 uncompressed bitstream audio or is it always going to be on HDMI ? I've put alot of money into my speakers and just don't want to use the compressed optical outputs of the ps3. I did a comparison to my upconverting Sony dvd, DVP-NS77H, audio to a friends ps3 on my system and I swear i lost something.(mostly my paradiem sub seemed less punchy)
Can anyone suggest a BD player that provides the upgraded sound that BD's have that will work with my system. Panny TH-50PZ85U, Polk Audio SDA 1, Pardiem sides, center, sub, and backs. ![]() |
