Default Why is the firmware page out-of-date?? < updated now

I enjoy the blu-ray forum and always check the firmware page for updates. But lately, the firmware update page is out-of-date. My Pioneer BDP-94HD firmware release is 2.46, while the page still reports the current version as 2.45. Also, the webpage report the current update for my Samsung BD-UP5000 as 1.1, while the actual current update is 1.3. What gives?

I posted a comment related to the outdated BDP-94HD upgrade on the firmware page on 5/21/08 and it has not been acknowledged.

The BDP-S500 is out-of-date as well. New version 3.75 was posted 6/22. Link: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu...=BDPS500&LOC=3

Oops... when we added the firmware page, we also made a small program that's supposed to check for new updates... but apparently it needs some tweaking
Anyway, I've updated all firmware manually, thanks a lot for bringing this to our attention

That's customer service right there!

I never really use the Firmware part of this site. I randomly check Panasonic's website and see if the latest firmware will do anything for me. If not, then I won't bother with updated my BD player. If it's not broke, don't fix it!

I'm curious how your program works. I was going to attempt the same, but eventually gave up as the various sites format data in different ways, occasionally move pages around, etc. And LGs, for one, is a complete mess to try to extract data from. Iceman, if it helps you at all, I check all the sites at least once a week for updates, and update my site firmware page at: http://www.blu-raydiscnews.com/2007/...-ray-disc.html . Feel free to just copy that info periodically if it helps. I don't track foreign players, but that could at least keep you up to date on the updates for U.S. players.

Unfortunately, FW v4.00 and now FW 4.10 were overlooked as well. No knock on the Mods, but its' too bad the software misses the FW updates. Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, but since the BDP-S500's FW link hasn't been updated since v3.75 I thought I'd go ahead and post this.

BDP-S500 v4.10 This was posted on the Sony site 10/16 (exactly one month ago).

Often all players from the same manufacturer aren't updated the same date, which is why some versions were overlooked. Anyway, all Sony firmware is now updated and I will take a look at the rest. Thanks
