Tv stand question

I have a 52 inch lcd
i purchased a stand today at best buy
its for a 48 inch tv and will hold up to 300 pounds
my tv says it is 75 pounds

I am moving into a new house but it will take a month before im in.
I purchased the tv a couple months ago. plugged it in and watched it a little. i have the 4 year service plan also. But i put it back in the box
now i have the stand and dont want to open it until i get moved in

i also have a 46 inch lcd and a stand for it but thats the set up in my house right now which will go in the extra bed room when we move.


I dont know what the time limit is at best buy for returns. But if i open this stand and put it together in a month and my tv doesnt fit it wont be good lol.

i got the tv when it was marked down for a weekend a while back
and i got the stand today it was 80 dollars off

My question is just...does anyone have a tv that is bigger than there stand says...my stand says it will accomadate a 50 inch lcd
but mine is 52

there will be some overhang on the sides...but other than that will it be ok?
