Exclamation we have it pretty good here @ blu-ray.com

i was very excited about joining japanforum.com. i joined about 2 days ago and began posting. i spotted some threads started by knock-off companies trying to sell fake sneakers(Bape), clothes, bags, and so on. i started by posting comments stating that i did not wear fake junk, and there thread was not appreciated. i was not hostile and did not cuss. at the same time i saw a young man looking for a place online to, buy Bape sneakers. i posted a helpful note to the kid, telling him to watch out for those threads containing links to the stores with fake goods,(including Bapes). i then gave him 3 web addresses where he could buy genuine Bapes with no worry. i was promptly BANNED! i was in shock. i had not even made 10 post in that forum. i think my feelings even got hurt. i mean i was real excited about my future with japanforum.com. i felt as though i had been slapped in the face. so i sent an angry email containing the F word. i later sent another email telling them they should be ashamed of themselves. i was doing something positive for the site and it's members. they gave NO reason, and the ban is for LIFE. i think maybe they were selling the fake goods.(?)
sometimes people at blu-ray.com complain about being censored, deleted, and warned, but at least the mods do give chances and explanations. i think we have it pretty good here at blu-ray.com.

JAPANFORUM.COM SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well at least the mods.

different cultures view things different. Its like bootlegs in Honk Kong its a wide vast market...millions of dollars to be made. There its a grey area of the law, not enforced as strict as the US market where the law is clear and in black and white

When property rights aren't protected and the rule of law isn't enforced, billions of dollars are lost in unrealized economic growth. The organized crime behind the bootlegging might be making millions, but society as a whole grows poorer.

wow, yea hong kong is in poverty because they bootleg I never learned that in history class. You dug too deep

http://www.nationsencyclopedia.com/e...ND-WEALTH.html

Quote:
Hong Kong is a prosperous territory with a high GDP per capita (US$18,813 in 1998). However, the distribution of income is uneven and there is a wide gap between social groups in terms of wealth and income. Large parts of the economy are dominated by a small group of tycoons who are among the richest people in the world and whose wealth is increasing. At the same time, there is a growing number of unemployed with practically no chance for rejoining the workforce. They are the victims of the migration of manufacturing establishments to mainland China who are middle-aged and unskilled or whose skills are not in demand. The service sector has absorbed a large portion of manufacturing unemployed since the 1980s, but the continuation of this trend is unlikely, since the skills of the unemployed often do not match those of the available positions.
I read that and they didnt say poverty was a result of crime or organized crime. It is a result of unemployment. From unemployment comes an increase in the crime rate as people need basic things to survive and find a source of income to do that.
All I had said was bootlegging was socially accepted in hong kong and not enforced.
Quote:
if the CD is imported from either Hong Kong or Taiwan, odds are that it's a bootleg. Just like with video piracy, copyright laws aren't very strongly enforced in these two nations. As such, they are prime locations for bootleggers
source
The only people that suffer economic loss are the countries that dont allow, like here in the US. 9.2 billion dollars the estimated economic loss in 2002 source

those same fake sites manage to infiltrate this website every so often....its extremely annoying!

I really like it here and have had no problems or fights with anybody. Most other forums I join give me problems and start with me. I am really glad to be a part of blu-ray.com.

the last week or so has really made a change for the better...it seems that most of the annoyances have either moved on or have been banned.

seems to have quieted down nicely.

I love it here, even if it's dead at night when I am on the most! Other then a few threads, everything is informative. The only problem (if you can call it that) is that with this many people, threads quickly veer off topic and need to be dragged back on topic, but I guess that is to be expected.

Rock on blu!

I like it here, joined a couple other forums since, quickly dropped posting there. These forums are nice, real easy on the eyes. I've had some infractions here, but hey, they were merited. (language).

I try to give back to this community as much as possible with posting hot deals or tips I find when I have time to surf at work even mailed out 20 or so letters with REAL MFG coupons to members before taking the bite on the stamps just to help out. Also by taking our one thread clusterf#$* of our COD4 blu clan and bringing structure to it by making a website for it with dedicated boards. (Practice, Matches , Strategy) etc.

I fully support blu-ray.com

I used to come here more often, but some people have been getting on my nerves... the people who used to lighten up the atmosphere have either been banned or left... it's a shame really.

Afraid I can't agree with you on that... There has been a distinct improvement, IMHO.

Explain?

Edit: Oh wait I already know what you're going to say. Never mind that would mean that the thread will be closed You must like boredum around this time of the day. Ask around, not everybody has the same opinion.
