Default Green Stripe on the right(Update!!)

Hey Guys,
I just got 40GB PS3. It's awesome. Plays games fine at 720p. But the problem that I am having is playing trailers and movies sometimes, I see a green stripe on the right side of my TV. IT's about 1/4cm thick. How could that be fixed? By the way, I am using HDMI to HDMI cable.

Also, Is it possible to download demos of old games, such as Grid, Dirt. I wanted try them out before I spend ~60 bucks on them.

Thanks.

I've got nothin' on the green line. Is it on everything or just a movie/trailer here and there?

As far as demos, there's a link to the PS Store in the XMB where you can get demos. They have demos for both Grid and Dirt. If you can't find them on the main pages, there's a section where you can show all content for all games alphabetically.

I've experienced the green stripe issue, but don't know what causes it. For me it occurs on movies I have converted to MPEG 4 format (but only on several of them). I have never taken the time to troubleshoot it, but I may try to next time it happens.

Turn your PS3 off. Turn it back on by holding down the power button until you hear a beep. Follow the on screen instructions.

If that fails, then reset your display settings to the factory default. I had the same problem once.

That's just a conversion problem. It happens to most videos I convert.

If i remember it correctly, I believe it was while playing standard dvds. I am gonna have to see if that happens again while playing Blurays OR Bluray trailers.

Will keep you guys posted, as soon as I get home.

Alright. It looks like there are green stripes, while playing the playstation network dvd that comes with PS3. But there are none, while playing download HD trailer from playstation network.

Is that normal? Do you guys see green stripes while playing a trailer from PS network DVD?
