I highly recommend the Epson 1080UB. The 1080UB projector includes the new D7 C2Fine LCD panels. The LCD panels in Panasonic PT-AE2000U are also made by Epson.

The following sites review the Epson Home Cinema 1080UB. The reviewers also compare it with Panasonic and Sony:
http://www.projectorreviews.com/epso...80ub/index.php , Hot Product Award
http://www.projectorcentral.com/epso..._ub_review.htm , Editor's Choice Award

I bought mine from this dealer. Check to see if they still have a rebate promotion. The dealer will give you a free $100 mount and does not charge for shipping.

Well, I can give you some options, but without knowing some basic info (screen size, throw distance, room lighting, etc.) all they'd be is some suggestions for other projectors that are great in certqain situations. Also, I'm not familiar with the optoma hd83... is that the one just getting ready to come out???

As for the other two, both are very solid sungle-chip DLP projectors. Personally if price is really no issue, then I would also look at some 3-chip DLPs or LCoS/SXRD depending on the other room and screen factors.

You might look at:
  • Sim2 CX3 1080 (3-chip DLP)
  • Sony VP-W200 (SXRD)
  • Pioneer Kuro KRF-9000FD (LCoS/D-ILA)
  • JVC DLA-RS2 (LCoS/D-ILA)
Those four are also very good projectors, but all have their trade-offs (maybe not the 3-chip DLP, but at $30k+ those come at a price most wouldn't even consider). Those you mentioned are also excellent. You really need to view the output from some different models to determine which is the right technology for you.

thanks for the reply guys, to answer a few questions i have a 110" fixed frame lp morgan screen. throw distance anywaher between 4 and 6 meters but there will be some slight problems of ambient light throughout the day so would need a projector with slightly higher lumen output.

I will definatley look into some of the three chip lcd's....is the pioneer made by jvc? or would it be better?
