Default Something that has Mono(bluetooth) and fullrange output

I posted asking if a PS3 could do this, but i guess it cant.

I am looking for a way to output fullrange sound (5.1 minimum) AND have a bluetooth headset with mono sound.

Reason:
As I said in the PS3 forum, my father is deaf in one ear, and has limited hearing in the other. If he uses Stereo he gets only half the story, and if he listens to a surround sound system the individual sounds are extremely hard to pick out (even talking to him on the street in person is next to impossible, so I call him on his cell and that works fine ). He really like when I bring my PS3 over to watch movies, because he enjoys the crisp picture.

Right now he uses a radio headset, and it cuts in and out, and that sucks for him, because he cant rewind, because then he would end up watching movies alone.

Just looking for a solution!

Thanks guys!

Can't you just use a reciever for 5.1/7.1 sound and then hook up the bluetooth headphones to the reciever and change the setting on the receiver to mono?

I suppose, but then my mother and sister would not enjoy the depth of sound that Blu-Ray gives. As I said before, I am looking for some way to do both mono(headphones) and 5.1 or better speakers at the same time. The point is to try and give my old man the best he can have with movies (great PQ, Mono Sound) while he retains having the mot importaint part of the movie expierence (at least for him); watching with family/friends. I sure as shit dont like to sit and watch a movie in mono sound.

In other words, The outputting mono has never been a problem. The out put of both through two means is the problem (I am starting to think the best way may be to have two recievers with HDMI daisychained to the TV... and use one for headphones, and one for everyone else).

Just trying to figure out the best options for my dads 65th birthday comming up.

He is a hell of a guy who always did right by me, so I want to do as good as I can for him.
