Ps3 system idle, what's still running? - Blu-ray Forum

ka so its no secret that when u turn off your ps3 lots of things are still running unless u do a hard shut down

any one know what components are still going

i got the bluetooth
wi-fi antenna
colling fan

just the power is running when its on idle. the fans everything else shut off and then the power goes down not until you pull the switch on the back of the ps3

When the system is in standby, I would think Bluetooth is still running so you can power the system on via the remote or contollers. If the PS3 was not accepting the signal, you could only turn it on via the actual system.

Also if you have remote play enabled to turn the system on, the wi-fi would be active. If you dont have that option the wi-fi is off. You can tell on this one because the wi-fi light will be on while the system is on standby.

I dont know what else would be running, but that would be my guess as to what is going on in standby mode. But the system still uses barely any power.
