Exclamation Disappointed in RAMBO UK Blu-ray sound !

I got Rambo (latest one) on bluray today & firstly i noticed there wasnt a DTS mater audio track on it only Dolby true HD! When ive read reviews before it came out that it was in DTS master audio its even rated on this website as having it & to anybody else that has this title do you find you have to turn the Dolby true HD track up a fair way? i do believe its been recorded fairly low espec compared to other titles, so all in all im abit disapointed to say the least.

I just rented it and it looks like you have a bad copy, can you take a picture as mine is currently showing DTS HD Master Audio.

Mine has a 7.1 DTS HD master audio track. Even though I can't get 7.1, that's what the back of the case says. One of the reviewers here said it as one of the finest audio tracks he's ever heard.

That had a sarcastic tinge in it, I feel...lol. Bit of an undertone remark in there? Maybe I'm digging for nothing.

In any case, the above posters are correct, the US release has DTS-HD MA. I don't think it is a bad disc, as that audio encode was not made here, and it would be a hell of a misprint, too - besides, the sound difference isn't THAT enormous.

The sound track was awesome and it's DTS-HD-MA. You might have something wrong with your setup..

Set-up won't change the audio codec unless it's already in there.

True HD can also be awesome. People are obsessed with DTS which isn't even as good as PCM.

Like I posted before my rented disc says MA, but I can't verify the awesomness of it yet as I haven't watched it, but that will shortly change once my pizza arrives, which should be in the next 20 minutes!

I hope it lives up to its hype audio-wise though and I wonder how it'll compare to Cloverfield which blew my sound system away!

Cloverfield is the TOP right now IMHO. Rambo is good but it's awfully centered in the front. It was like this in Cinema.

BUT

Rambo has the best Gun Fire EVER. Crank it up!!!

It was suprised at the ending of MIB, being an older 1997 movie. The end kick some somerious all, i tought my head was gonna explode!

Unless i'm mistaken, and correct me if I am. But the UK version of Rambo 4 is released through Sony pictures, who use either uncompressed or TrueHD audioo, and the US version is through LIONSGATE who use 7.1 DTS HD MA on practically all thier releases. They are usually region free so if you really want the dts i suggest you order from either movietyme.com or amazon.com - they seem to be the best for blu ray region free online prices.

Why would you be disappointed that it has a True HD rather than a DTSHDMA track?

Are we still believing there is a difference?

The OP seems to have the U.K Region-B locked Blu-ray that was released by SPHE with DTHD 5.1 audio. Checkout the U.K review sites that reports about the low volume levels on the Dolby True HD track. Do your due diligence properly before purchasing a movie.

The US release of Rambo features 7.1 channel DTS-HD Master Audio, but Sony's UK effort 'only' has a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track. The first thing that struck me was how quiet it was in comparison to most of the discs I've reviewed. In fact, I had to crank the volume up a fair way before things started to sound as expected. It seems TrueHD is just that little bit quieter than PCM or DTS-HD, apparently according to dialogue normalisation (or so I've read).

IMHO, I can't tell the difference between DTS MA and True HD because they both do their job on my tv without surround. Plus they're both very loud and clear enough that it makes my room sound like a theater.

Yes bullseye i agree that True HD is awesome, spiderman 3 sounds out of this world on True HD now if Rambo was as good as spidey 3 in true HD i wouldnt be bothered at the lack of a DTS master audio but the true HD of rambo sounds to me like a standard digital 5.1!

I wouldnt normally be disapointed fronn, as True HD is awesome (when its mastered well that is) & on a good mix of True HD ie Spiderman 3 etc there isnt much diff between that & DTS master audio, but rambo is the worst ive heard yet in True HD
