Default A little disappointed with Blu-ray so far

I've only had my Blu-Ray player for about a week, but I am a little disappointed so far. First off, nobody is stocking many Blu_Ray title yet. The local Best Buy doesn't even have a full isle dedicated to it yet. Also, there is no reason for catalog ttiles to be as expensive as new releases. I saw a few films I wouldn't picking up on the Blu-Ray format, but I wasn't willing to pay $30 for 10+ year old movies. Hopefuly, retailers will start discounting catalog titles soon. As for now, I'm not even buying everything on Blu-Ray. I will continue to buy standard DVDs on most titles, saving the Blu-Ray dollars for big releases like The Dark Knight, Iron Man, & The Incredible Hulk. At $30 I don't see the need to buy more dramatic films like LA Confidential and Heat on the Blu-Ray format.

Buy from Amazon, there is no reason you should EVER pay 30 dollars for a Blu-ray.

Do what I do--buy used copies from private Amazon sellers. It's worked great for me thus far, and you can often get them for half the new price.

I always look at Amazon and get it used like-new condition. Save tons of money and have never been took. Always look at the sellers score rate and how many sales that rate is figured against.

I'm not sure I quite believe the OP or his intentions. Every Best Buy I've visited has more than a full aisle devoted to Blu's. And even at Best Buy L.A. Confidential is $20, not $30. And Heat is not on BD.

I'm in Texas near Dallas. The Best Buy down the street from me, has one side of the shortest isle dedicated to Blu-Ray.

And to the poster doubting me, I was using Heat as an example of the type of film I couldn't justify spending the higher price on. While Heat is an excellent movie, it's not a big visual experience.

i have been to BB's in dallas all have a huge selection of Blu's as do the ones in OKC where i live! I never buy my blu's from brick and mortar stores though, stick to online ordering for your blu's and you will save some serious $$$$
